Artist, emcee, Spoken word artist, poet, storyteller, side show performer, actor, producer T.Paul Ste. Marie a.k.a. SwankHipster is regarded as one of Vancouver's most prolific facilitators of the spoken word art form. T.Paul has produced spoken word/music stages and events, as well as performed and hosted for the likes of the 25th ANNIVERSARY of the VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL, the VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL STORYTELLING FESTIVAL, the VICTORY SQUARE SUMMER PROGRAM, and the VANCOUVER VIDEOPOEM FESTIVAL. He is the barker for the WORMWOOD BROS. CIRCUS-SIDESHOW, emcee and co-producer of the monthly CONNECT SERIES at the Railway Club, and emcee to many diverse variety shows in Vancouver.
T.Paul has performed his poetry alongside such memorable names as the Beat Generation's Ted Joans, actor/poet Malcolm Jamal Warner, International Slam Champ Shane Koyczan, Bill Bisset, Ian Ferrier, Ralph Alfonso, Cass King and more. Caf頍ontmartre, where he hosts and produces Vancouver's award winning (WestEnder's "Best in the West" Gold winner for best open mic venue, 2001-02) spoken word/music fusion weekly open mic series every Sunday night, is home to one of North Americas most respected open stage and feature venues for spoken word and music.
T.Paul also performs for and offers workshops in performance poetry to secondary students through ArtStarts, is the host of the CBC television pilot on spoken word and video-poetry 100% MAPLE VERSE, was a featured guest and performer on both CBC radio's NORTH BY NORTHWEST and PASS THE MIC, CBC television's ZeD TV and was one of the competitors in 2002 for CBC radios NATIONAL POETRY FACE-OFF. Currently, T.Paul is the BC correspondent for BOOK TELEVISION"S WORD NEWS, based out of CITY TV TOronto.
He began acting at age 13, and has carried on his passion for live audiences filling the 24 years since the bug bit him with his character acting, clowning, mime, spoken word, as well as television and film appearances.
