Teen Phenoms? Exactly!!! the heck is the brainchild of guitar protg Bryan Steeksma. Bryan started out playing as a four year old on his fathers guitar strumming along to Fred Penner while watching TV. At Five he was doing school recitals holding the guitar on his lap he was too small to hold it upright. By the time Bryan was 15 years old he had been playing provincial fairs, and jamming with blues cats in the legendary Yale Hotel in Vancouver. The late and legendary blues organist Robbie King said of Bryan there is only one of these people made each year just drive him wherever he wants to go. Robbie is one of a long list of people who have recognized Bryan s amazing talent. Influenced by guitar greats Jimi Hendrix & Joe Satriani, Bryan has spent the better part of his childhood playing guitar in his parents basement, sometimes spending more than 8 16 hours a day for weeks at a stretch. But playing with his dads friends and legendary blues musicians is not where his heart lay. Bryan s unique experience had only exposed him to the world of his parents music, Hendrix, The Who, Led Zepplin, etc, etc. His parents contacted Vancouver Management Team @ TKO Entertainment, and their advice was to immediately educate Bryan on current bands, the music that Bryan s age group was listening to. As a result Bryan spent the better part of his 15th year listening to every cd released in the past year and emerged a fan of the Foo Fighters. Combining the guitar histrionics of legendary greats and influenced by Dave Grohl, Bryan had a starting point for the heck.
