Operating within the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking peoples, the Fernwood Community Association’s Little Fernwood Gallery Committee seeks proposals for month-long exhibitions to be held at 1923 Fernwood Road from January to December 2025.
This Call is open to all local artists/groups/collectives, with the selection process prioritizing artists within the Fernwood community who experience systemic barriers to inclusion in the visual arts, and who employ diverse approaches to their art. We are seeking a wide range of art-making, and an array of material explorations that reflect our unique community. Emerging artists are encouraged to apply. Please note that to accommodate other users of the space, all artwork must be displayed on the perimeter of the gallery. Plinths are available on request.
The Little Fernwood Gallery follows accepted protocols on copyright infringement and non-appropriation of Indigenous cultures — work that infringes on these guidelines will not be accepted. The Little Fernwood Gallery is a publicly supported gallery and we reserve the right to show work suitable to our neighbourhood.
