About

Two and a Half White Guys

Label: Gringos
What's in a name, anyway? Two and a Half White Guys, that's what. Not only is it a name that sticks in your head, but it's a band with a sound and style as unique as the name itself.
With the band's roots at the base of Utah's Wasatch mountain range, one can hardly imagine where five individuals would get the inspiration to create such a fluid mesh of reggae, rocksteady, and ska. Their blend of music was descibed by one listener as "calypsonic." Yes, folks, the rhythmic and exotic sounds of the Caribbean can be heard threaded throughout the beats and melodies of these boys from Provo, Utah. That's quite a head scratcher considering that the only nonwhite guy is half-Micronesian drummer Marko Fagg, who named the band.

Since 1997 Two and a Half White Guys have been playing in their home state of Utah as well as dozens of cities throughout the US. Several of the members of Two and a Half White Guys have played elsewhere in Utah's music scene, including opening for major acts such as No Doubt, The Specials, Cake, Everclear, Bush, Howard Jones, Fishbone, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Slackers, Hepcat, NYC Ska/Jazz Ensemble, Brent Berry, Chris Murray, and Dave Wakeling, formerly of the English Beat.

The band's experience and great taste for good music show in their catalog of music. This includes their debut EP and both of their full-length CDs, one recorded live at Provo's only watering hole worth visiting and the other recently recorded in the studio. Two and a Half White Guys are definitely a must-see and must-hear experience for any fan of good music.
