After two sold-out Commodore shows and a triumphant set opening for Ben Harper at Deer Lake Park, Bedouin Soundclash return to Vancouver for their first all-ages headlining show here.
The Toronto trio’s catchy mix of traditional (Desmond Dekker) and more punk-inspired (the Clash) reggae, captured on their Stomp/Side One Dummy album Sounding a Mosaic, catapulted the act to fame, thanks in part to the celebrated success of “When the Night Feels My Song”. The swaying summertime anthem had everyone who heard it toasting the band, and earned Bedouin Soundclash a Juno nomination for Best Single. Instead, they won for Best New Group—a testament not just to their songwriting abilities but also their festive yet intense live performances.
