. Saturday, July 15th IMU & CiTR 101.9FM present The Kitchen (Iisak's B-day party!) w/ The Alex Maher Band @ The MEDIA CLUB, 695 Cambie . 8pm / $10

THE KITCHEN is a five-piece ensemble from Vancouver that plays music for the sheer joy of it. A high-energy blend of funk, rock, and soul, The Kitchen specializes in filling up the dancefloor and keeping it moving. The band boasts an incredibly diverse background of musical interests that include funk, punk, jazz, ska, glam-rock, and straight-up soul. The end result is full of complex melodies and irresistible grooves. "A brilliant display of funk and rock peppered with heartfelt soul and a splash of orchestral ska that will keep you on the dance floor."
