Buddy Guy: 8:55-10:00pm

A legendary bluesman known as much for his showmanship as for his electrifying way with a guitar, Buddy Guy has been showing the younger generations how to play Chicago blues for 45 years. During his lengthy career, Buddy has been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, sold over 2 million records and earned 5 Grammy Awards and 19 W.C. Handy Blues Awards—more than any other single artist.

Koko Taylor and Her Blues Machine: 7:35-8:35pm

Queen of the Blues Koko Taylor has been astonishing audiences for over forty years. She received her first big break in 1962 when Willie Dixon heard her. The legendary bluesman’s reaction was like that of just about every person lucky enough to hear Koko—here was a woman who could sing the blues like no other.

The Be Good Tanyas: 6:50-7:30pm

The Be Good Tanyas (Sam Parton, Frazey Ford, Trish Klein) have been keeping Vancouver on the folk- roots map since the release of their 2001 album Blue Horse. Chinatown, the folk-roots trio’s 2003 follow- up, as well as the group’s numerous tours, both headlining and opening for people like Lucinda Williams, have further enhanced their reputation with tried-and-true harmonies, excellent songwriting, superb musicianship and winning charm.

Susan Tedeschi: 5:45-6:45pm

Though known for her fiery guitar work, on her latest album, Hope and Desire, Susan Tedeschi concentrates on her singing. The disc presents Susan in the role of interpretive vocal stylist while maintaining a firm grasp on the classic blues, rock, R&B, folk and gospel influences that have won her a large and loyal audience since first coming to prominence with her 1998 breakthrough album, Just Won’t Burn.

Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys: 5:05-5:40pm

Growing up in the prairie town of Mamou, where music was played by nearly everyone, accordion and fiddle player Steve Riley was destined to become a musician. Over the years he and fiddle player/singer David Greely, with whom he has formed the Mamou Playboys, have been keeping the tradition of Cajun music alive, inspiring countless other musicians and turning every event they play into a celebration.

The Holmes Brothers: 4:00-5:00pm

Gospel-inflected, spiritually moving and funky, the Holmes Brothers’ music has been a force on the
blues-roots music scene since 1979. The trio’s breathtaking harmonies resonate with a passion and conviction matched only by their inspired musicianship and ability to perform sanctified gospel, low-down roadhouse blues, deep soul, barroom country and pure pop-all in one set.
