UVic string students perform solo sonatas, partitas and suites by Johann Sebastian Bach for a panel of expert adjudicators. Prizes are awarded and YOU get a chance to vote! Your donations at the door will go to the winner of the Audience Prize.

Bach’s solo string works are considered some of the finest examples of any music composed. Their timeless melodies, heart-felt harmonies, intricate yet complex counterpoint continue to provide performers and listeners alike with sublime pleasure and unlocking the mysteries in their meaning is an almost three-hundred year old tradition. These works are known for their technical challenges and musical sophistication.
