After sold out shows at the Island Summer Theatre Festival at Mafeo Sutton Park in Nanaimo, Murmur Arts Collective and Silent DJ Vctoria are excited to present the Victoria Premiere of the show Voices in My Body /Des voix dans mon corps at Fisherman's Wharf Park! This will be two offerings: the original interactive performance, plus a silent disco dance!

Come experience this innovative, bilingual, outdoor performance that integrates dance, theatre, parts work, and silent disco technology to connect dancers and audience participants. Then join a sunset "silent disco" dance after the main performance!

STNOPSIS:
Voices in my body is an innovative, in situ, and bilingual (French and English) outdoor dance and theater performance, combining live performance with linked audience headphones (“silent disco” technology). Through witnessing slice of life of four characters, the performance invites the audience in an exploration of the different parts that live in us as we move through life experiences: the part that is overwhelmed with things to do, the exhausted part, the one that is jealous of what others have, the deeply loving part… Passionate, tender, funny, Voices in my Body creates a unique window into the theatre of our inner lives.

The show is adapted for children 12 and up and adults of all ages. The silent disco is all ages.

We encourage public transit, carpooling, & biking. There are bike racks on site. There is paid parking in the Robbins Lot by the Wharf and free street parking on Erie St., Superior St., Dallas Rd, and more.

WHAT IS SILENT DISCO:
Silent disco is an immersive audio experience. Audience members and performers all wear comfortable, high-audio headphones that receive sound by FM radio waves via a transmitter. You can choose either the English or French version of the performace by switching channels on the side of your headset. You can adjust your own volume as loud as you like.. and we won't disturb the neighours! The audience is invited to participte at times if they wish and we end the evening with a silent disco dance together!

Après deux spectacles très bien reçus par le public au Island Summer Theatre Festival au parc Maffeo Sutton à Nanaimo, Murmur Arts Collective et Silent DJ Victoria sont ravis de présenter la première à Victoria du spectacle Voices in My Body / Des voix dans mon corps au parc Fisherman's Wharf! La soirée se déroule en deux temps : la performance interactive d’une heure, suivie d’une danse Silent Disco guidée par Silent DJ Victoria!

Combinant performance live avec écouteurs connectés (Silent Disco), "Des voix dans mon corps" est une performance de danse-théâtre en plein air, in situ et bilingue (français/anglais). À travers les expériences de vie de quatre personnages, nous explorons les différentes parties qui nous habitent : celle qui est submergée par les choses à faire, celle qui est épuisée, celle qui est jalouse de ce que les autres ont, celle qui aime profondément… Nous utilisons le mouvement et l'émotion transmise par la musique pour refléter l'expérience interne de nos personnages. Passionnée, tendre et drôle, "Des voix dans mon corps" crée une fenêtre unique sur le théâtre de notre vie intérieure.

Venez découvrir ce spectacle innovant et bilingue qui combine la danse-théâtre avec la technologie du Silent Disco, permettant une connexion des danseurs et du public à travers une bande sonore originale de qualité. Rejoignez ensuite le Silent Disco après la représentation principale pour une intégration du spectacle par le mouvement!

Le spectacle est adapté pour les personnes de 12 à 99 ans.

QU'EST-CE QUE LE SILENT DISCO :
Le Silent Disco est une expérience audio immersive. Les membres du public et les artistes portent tous des écouteurs confortables à haute qualité audio qui reçoivent le son par ondes radio FM via un émetteur. Vous pouvez choisir la version anglaise ou française de la performance en changeant de canal sur le côté de votre casque. Vous pouvez régler le volume à votre guise... et nous ne dérangerons pas les voisins ! Le public est invité à participer à certains moments s'il le souhaite et nous terminons la soirée par une danse disco silencieuse ensemble !
