Colleen Brown is an engaging singer, songwriter and pianist whose talent and drive are as
deep as her Alberta roots.
Colleen writes catchy, melodic roots/pop music, and while her influences are apparent, she eschews the comparisons and stereotypes that dog most young female singer songwriters.
Over the past few years, Colleen's been working on making a name for herself, writing and performing songs in her original, honest and quirky style. She maintains, "I want to connect with my audience. I feel I'm writing about experiences everybody can relate to, but framing them in a way that not everybody has considered before." And her growing audiences have come to count on her heart-on-sleeve writing, sense of humor and non-traditional outlook.
The end of 2004 finds Colleen releasing her ambitious debut CD, 'A Peculiar Thing'.
Colleen Brown is poised to make a splash outside her native prairies.
