Event Description
Tuesday, Sept 13th -:- IMU & CiTR present As The Crow Flies with Cara Luft + The No Shit Shirleys @ The MEDIA CLUB
AS THE CROW FLIES' music is affectionately known at home as Kootenay Roots. Fresh, confident and clear, their music runs through fields of folk with traditional and original tunes all arranged warmly with lavish tone. It's the music you hear wafting into the street from the porch in the summer. It's the music that tells the stories of ordinary folks, with thickening plots and hopeful endings. http://www.asthecrowflies.ca
CARA LUFT - Juno Award winner Cara Luft is an exceptionally talented guitarist with a vibrant demeanour and confidence earned from years on the stage. Shortly after releasing her first full-length album "Tempting the Storm" (nominated for a Prairie Music Award), Luft became a founding member of The Wailin' Jennys, recording the Juno award-winning album "40 Days" and touring full-time with them for three years. http://www.caraluft.com
THE NO SHIT SHIRLEYS are a multi-talented and unforgettable 8-piece, all-woman a capella ensemble with heart-pumping, foot-tapping and soul-singing music. The Shirley's love of music and of the songs they sing is infectious; it makes you want to lift up your voice, and will leave you with a smile on your face every time! http://www.shirleys.ca
