Event Description
Epic in musical and spiritual scope, Edward Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius hasn't been performed in Victoria since 1994!
Composed in 1900, the work follows the journey of a man's Soul, from his death to his final judgement, encountering Angelic and Demonic forces along the way.
Peter Butterfield conducts a choir of more than 90 voices, an orchestra of 30+ players, many of them members of the Victoria Symphony, and three esteemed soloists who have individually sung these roles on various world stages.
With the Cathedral's majestic organ contributing to the sound, this is a concert not to be missed.
Doors open at 7, and it's general seating. Advance tickets are recommended.
