THE RETURN OF JULIAN AUSTIN
LIVE AT TORNADO JOE’S COUNTRY ROCK CABARET
45844 Yale Rd., Chilliwack –SATURDAY, JUNE 25TH - Advance tickets $12.00
He’s a genuine one slice of life, and he’s back by popular demand. Rock.It Boy Entertainment and JRfm 93.7 New Country present - from Calgary - JULIAN AUSTIN, a New Brunswick-born country music singer/songwriter with a story or two to tell. He performs on Saturday, June 25th at Tornado Joe’s Country Rock Cabaret in Chilliwack. Advance tickets are $12.00 from all Ticketmaster outlets.
They call JULIAN AUSTIN ‘the bad boy with the big heart’ of country music in reference to the rough and tumble life that has taken this man from the streets of New Brunswick, through years of heavy metal, hard rock, eighties pop and some real rough living, then flipping his destiny and emerging as a true country and western storyteller. Sometimes you judge a person by their record - what they did and how they were there. Perhaps it is prejudicial, but is a human trait to add things up. Try as we might, it is hard not to be impressed by a performer who has had all the opportunities in life to go down the drain, just another one of the millions trodden under by rough circumstance, but doesn’t. JULIAN AUSTIN has this effect on people and it puts a special shine on sometimes tarnished world, a message of hope by example. And then of course there is the man’s music…
His debut album, What My Heart Already Knows (BMK/VIK Recordings 1997) had its two singles, "Little Ol' Kisses" and "Diamond,” heavily rotated on radio and television earning Julian a certified CRIA gold record (50k+ sales) and the 1997 CCMA Wrangler Rising Star Award and a bunch of Juno nominations. The follow up Back In Your Life (2000), also with BMG, earned him 6 CCMA nominations, including best video and his band won “Best Back Up Band.” Between those two albums he almost killed himself bull riding, sustaining a punctured lung, cracked ribs and a huge hole in his leg. In true JULIAN AUSTIN style he bounced back and released the third album Bulletproof Civilian Records) and is currently working on his new album It’s A Good Life.
