Angels In The Architecture
Music for symphonic wind orchestra, inspired by sacred structures.
$20 (or pay what you can)
Meridiem Wind Orchestra returns to the stage after more than two years! MWO is an outstanding symphonic wind ensemble made up of some of Victoria’s finest musicians and music educators. They will be performing under the batons of Artistic Director, Scott MacInnes, and Guest Conductor, Dr. Steven Capaldo.
The program for Angels in the Architecture takes its title from a dramatic work by the award-winning American composer, Frank Ticheli, inspired by the Sydney Opera House with its halo-shaped acoustical ornaments hanging directly above the performance stage. Other works include La Mezquita de Cordoba (Giroux), Old Churches (Colgrass), Cathedrals (Salfelder), and Cavalry of the Clouds (Alford); paying musical tribute to the sacred structures ubiquitously found in cityscapes worldwide.
Tickets are by donation (suggested: $20) and can be purchased in advance on Eventbrite or with cash at the door.
