Join us for a fun and fascinating evening with authors M.A.C. Farrant and Pauline Holdstock.
Called “one of the best humorists in the land” and “the bizarro Alice Munro”, North Saanich’s own M.A.C. Farrant is the author of fifteen works of fiction, non-fiction, memoir and two plays. Her novel, The Strange Truth About Us – A Novel of Absence, was chosen by The Globe & Mail as a Best Book of 2012. Farrant’s latest book, The Great Happiness, is the third in her Miniatures trilogy. The first book in the trilogy, The World Afloat won the City of Victoria Book Prize.
Internationally published novelist, short fiction writer and essayist, Pauline Holdstock, has won a number of awards, including the BC Book Prizes Ethel Wilson Award for Fiction and the City of Victoria Butler Book Prize. Pauline’s new book, Here I Am! set in England in the pre-digital 1960s is about a young boy who loses his mother. Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction prize-winner, Kathy Page, says Holdstock has “crafted a touching and utterly absorbing story that reminds us of what it is to be a child.”
