Learn to “awaken the unheard sounds that sleep deep in the throat” with UVic Orion Series in Fine Arts guest artist Gabriel Dharmoo. In this unique vocal improvisation workshop, participants will be led through a series of vocal exploration exercises linked to breathing, the body and movement. In the second half of the workshop, Dharmoo will introduce “soundpainting,” a conducting method using hand signals to draw different sounds and behaviours from participants, using their voices or instrument of choice.
