Event Description
Are you overwhelmed with the volume of daily emails you receive? Do you find yourself trying to do ten things at once? Do you have trouble concentrating for sustained periods of time because so many things are vying for your attention? Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what the impact of dividing your attention in so many directions has on the quality of your work and life?
“Minding our Health in the Cyber Age: The impact of multitasking on our well-being” will report on recent startling research and scientific data about some of the negative impacts digital distraction and multitasking are having on our behaviour and neurological capacities. Featuring guest speaker Paul Mohapel (Associate Faculty, Royal Roads University), this forum is intended to provoke thoughtful dialogue and more mindful approaches to using technology both at work and in our homes. Strategies to create more balanced and healthy interactions with technology will be explored.
Presented in partnership with the Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health, this free forum brings health professionals and community members together each year to discuss health issues affecting us all. The evening includes the presentation, a Q&A, and short performances by the Lafayette String Quartet. Reserve seats at: lafayettestringquartet.ca
