Jorge Eduardo Flores Carrizales will perform three 20th-century piano works. The recital will start with the Armenian folk melodies and rhythms of Khachaturian’s piano toccata, then journey through three exotic soundscapes imagined in the classic French Impressionism of Estampes by Clause Debussy, and finish with Jorge Eduardo’s interpretation of Sonata Madre Juana by the Mexican composer Federico Ibarra.
Jorge Eduardo was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. He obtained a B. Mus. with honours from the University of Guanajuato in 2016, where he studied with Elena Podzharova. He has given recitals in Mexico and the United States, and has just completed his first year of a Master’s program in piano performance at the University of Victoria, where he studies under Arthur Rowe.
