PASSAGE: Stones, Bones and Feathers: Kathi Thompson

Event Description

The series of sculptures and works on paper and canvas invite the viewer to explore boats as a metaphor for transformation. Kathi Thompson uses kayak and umiak forms to depict adaptation, with vessels that carry us on our journey. Fashioned in thin layers of terracotta, each one reveals the bones of our experiences and the flotsam we gather along the way. The accompanying works on paper and canvas create a landscape of hope: a glimpse into our inner struggles through times of change.
