EARLY SPIRIT - Featuring progressive arrangements with deep grooves and powerful violin leads, Early Spirit's unique approach to folk music incorporates everything from swing and jazz influences to dance-heavy reels. The band unites the stellar talents of Jay Knutson (vocals, guitar) who co-wrote, arranged and performed Celtic folk-rock music as a member of the acclaimed Spirit of the West; Gabriel Dubreuil, a Franco-Canadian violinist with a passion for independent, genre-bending music; Will Chernoff, one of Canada’s finest jazz musicians on bass; and Ben Kelly, a versatile drummer and son of Spirit of the West's Geoffrey Kelly.
