Event Description
Exclusive to ISCM2017, two of Canada’s top ensembles share the stage for a concert of music from around the world.
ISCM World New Music Days has a rich history of hosting world premieres like Alban Berg’s celebrated Violin Concerto. Tonight, we add to that history with the premiere of Canadian composer Ana Sokolović’s new violin concerto, Etva performed by Andréa Tyniec and Ensemble contemporain de Montreal (ECM+).
The night expands as Turning Point Ensemble takes you on a journey through the surrealistic fairy tale that is Serbian composer Isidora Žebeljan’s Needle Soup. This blockbuster concert also includes hauntingly beautiful pieces from composers from all over the world. A truly incredible evening of music.
