Event Description

Stories from the Edge showcases internationally renowned artists as part of a series of events that explore performance art and its relationship to identity, storytelling, theatre, activism, politics, and archives.

Friday, October 2, 7:30pm - An evening of performance art, Metro Studio Theatre. $20 tickets advance/door, 250-383-8833 to reserve.

Native American visual and performance artist James Luna, in collaboration with Gwich’in artist Jeneen Frei Njootli, will present a powerful new work Ishi: The Archive Performance.

La Pocha Nostra troupe members Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Saul Garcia Lopez, and Jessica Balitrónica will present two Psycho-Magic performance actions The Mexican God of Corn and The Shooting Gallery.

Saturday, October 3, 1:30pm - Performance and Conversation, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria

Amy Malbeuf will perform Ravel and then participate in RED WORDS: Conversation on Indigenous Performance with James Luna and Amy Malbeuf, facilitated by Chris Creighton-Kelly.

Wednesday, September 30 - Artist Lectures
