Event Description

Jeff Agopsowicz is a fabulous trombone player. Formerly of Victoria's Naden Band, Jeff has been living in Winnipeg the last few years... but the rumours are true, and Jeff has returned to the island!

Join Nick La Riviere and Jeff Agopsowicz with the return of their fantastic and wild band, Trombone Mayhem! Joining them are Karel Roessingh, Sean Drabitt, and Kelby MacNayr.

Trombone Mayhem! is known for exciting, high energy, and unusual jazz. You'll hear originals, charismatic arrangements of standards, as well as such feats at the Buddy Rich Big Band West Side Story Suite rearranged for only two trombones and rhythm section. There could be a 'trombone battle' over 'Cherokee', some Chick Corea --- maybe even something from 'The Specials'....

...But wait! There's more! As if that wasn't enough, the band will be joined by singer/guitarist Duncan Meiklejohn for the second set and the show will turn in to a 70's dance party featuring music by Earth Wind & Fire, KC & the Sunshine Band, Sly & the Family Stone, and more!
