Event Description
Join the Koerner Quartet for the third concert of their debut public season as they present a valentine that is “more zeitgeist than saccharine” in Notes of Love & Protest, taking place Sunday, February 15 at 2pm at the Koerner Recital Hall at the Vancouver Academy of Music (1270 Chestnut Street). The concert opens with JUNO-nominated composer, Jocelyn Morlock’s, Vermillion. The quartet will then daringly segue into Elvis Costello’s, The Juliet Letters, featuring sensational baritone, Alan McDonald. The afternoon concludes with Benjamin Britten’s beautifully moving, String Quartet No. 2 In Time of War – written in 1945 as a helpless cry against sweeping fascism by the most famous pacifist composer of his time.
Tickets: $18/$15 general admission. Reserve your tickets at koernerquartet.com
