. Friday, September 12th IMU presents VAGABONDS w/ WHITE BLOOD CELLS White Stripes Tribute & BYZANTINE BLUE @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir . Show 10pm / $10 cover

VAGABONDS - Starting out as a five piece cover band whose members all originally hail from Ireland, Vagabonds have become a regular fixture on the local music scene with a live show that bursts with energy on every occasion. They play contemporary rock with a Celtic twist and at least ten different instruments between them, mixing traditional Irish favourites with songs by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Prince and Arcade Fire. http://www.vagabondsbc.com

WHITE BLOOD CELLS is a Vancouver-based tribute to The White Stripes, one of the leading bands of the post-2000 garage rock revival. Intensely executed with heavily distorted power chords blasting a blasphemous noise, White Blood Cells honour the spirit of the Stripes with their explosive, minimalist, authentic blues rock. http://www.facebook.com/whitebloodcellsbc

BYZANTINE BLUE is a complex synthesis of modern rock arrangements, creative rhythms and emotionally charged melodies.
