Event Description

SUNSET LABS PROUDLY PRESENTS:
>> SUNSET SOUNDS 03.10.12 <<

It's SUNSET SOUNDS, our mixed-genres, wide-open, anything-goes beats & treats!!! As ever with Sunset Sounds, this night is going to have a smattering of everything - tech-house, funky breaks, driving progressive, filthy electro, techno and more I'm sure. Check out this lineup, nothing but awesome! Our artists for the night are (in order of appearance)!:

PHRASE :: Union Sound, Complex, J-Gib | Victoria
[drum & bass, dubstep, breaks]
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Phrase/224847984154 | www.soundcloud.com/fraser-phrase
Phrase, aka Fraser Evans, first discovered electronic music at VEMF 2005. From that he immediately fell in love with various types of broken beats, especially drum and bass, and ever since then, he has had an obsession with this obscure music! He started mixing music in mid 2008, and it has snowballed from there. Last year he discovered dubstep, which hit him almost as hard as dnb did and started to collect this music and work it into his sets. Recently he started producing some dubstep to add to his wobbly dub mixes. He has pulled influences from such names as Sub Focus, Benny Page, Spor, Baron and Calibre, and from local friends Okibi and Reality. Phrase is a burgeoning talent who will continue to go far in the future!

SPOON :: BBI, 420 Kru | Victoria
Spoon, moving dance floors all across Vancouver Island with his mixed varieties of Drum n’ Bass and Break Beats. Starting his DJ career in 2004, Spoon has quickly rose to be one of the “Next Up and Comers”, affiliated with some of the larger Break Beat promotion crews, Breakbeat Island, 4the Music, 420 Kru and DB mint. Your not gonna know what this boy is gonna throw at you next, he is not one to be missed!

MYKEE :: Reliable, Hush | Victoria
http://www.myspace.com/reliablemike
A veteran DJ of more than 10 years and longstanding successful promoter in the Vancouver Island dance community, Mykee is one of the island's most versatile and in demand artists. Through his promotion company Reliable Productions, Mykee has contributed to some of the largest and most memorable parties and DJ sets in the island's history. Packing dance floors across Vancouver Island for a decade with his high octane DJ sets and versatile musical interests, Mykee's technical skill and ability to keep the listener guessing are all part of what makes Mykee Vancouver Island's #1 Party Rocker!

NOODLES :: http://soundcloud.com/dj-pedigree
Leif Damborg aka "Noodles" has been heavily into electronic music for much of the past decade. After spending much of that time on the dance floor, he took the leap into the world of Dj'ing, a couple years ago and hasn't looked back. With an interest in glitch-hop, breaks, deep minimal dubstep, and tribal drum and bass you can expect his sets to be a unique blend of genres mixed with precision and care.
