Event Description
The Yale is the focal point for rhythm and blues in Western Canada. The icons of traditional blues, as well as new talent, come by to play and jam. Pop stars and screen personalities frequent the Yale to hear their R&B idols. As well, the Yale recently built its own precision engineered recording studio. In the basement, where stable boys used to groom the horses, the Yale today records live performances to promote up-and-coming local blues players and to raise funds for charities.
The Phonix is please to be performing at the Yale for not one, but TWO evenings of back-to-back entertainment to please the thirsty souls of Vancouver. Come enjoy some cold beverages while dancing the night away to some of the finest funk and soul music in town.
The Phonix is pleased to be welcoming Jackie Nguyen as a special guest for our two performances at The Yale. Jackie's fluid vocal technique bleeds a soulfulness that is well matched by her commanding stage presence and personable demeanor. Aside our very own David Ward, the lead vocals will certainly be a highlight of the evening!
The full 5-piece horn section will be strutting some choreography backed by one of the most solid rhythm sections in town!
