VOC Soul Gospel Choir - Black History Month Soul Gospel Sing-A-Long 2008
Join us as we celebrate Black History Month on Saturday, February 23rd at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre (The Cultch). This free Community Event will unite Singers and Non-Singers alike as we learn to sing Soul Gospel Favorites and Negro Spirituals led by Checo Tohomaso. He’ll Activate Your Soul!
Musician Checo Tohomaso will be joined by members of the three choirs under his direction: the Vancouver Outreach Community (VOC) Soul Gospel Choir, the Victoria Soul Gospel Choir and the Creativ Music Soul Gospel Choir. The goal is to unite people of different cultures and beliefs to participate in an inspirational musical message of Joy, Peace, Hope and Healing through our common passion: singing.
In six-part harmony you will experience a high-energy, positive vibe, as our voices mix together the sounds of Soul, Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Hawaiian, Calypso, and Reggae. The animated delivery will have you join in by toe tapping, foot stomping, jumping, singing, dancing and hand clapping!
