Perched at the top of a hill that slopes down to the heart of the City, The Cultch has always been a gathering place. This once-abandoned church on the corner of Venables and Victoria has developed into a national treasure and BC's most diverse performance space. From the beginning, musicians have remarked on the warmth and intimacy of the theatre. The fine old building is home to a marvelous array of performing arts and is known as one of Vancouver's special cultural treasures.
Seating capacity varies from 179-285, and the stage can be configured to accommodate performances of most sizes. The venue is a supportive rental facility to musicians ranging from rock to jazz to classical. Frequent renters and companies in residence include Rock for Choice, Coastal Jazz and Blues Society, the Little Chamber Music Series that Could and choral group musica intima. Rental enquiries should be directed to [email protected], or call Jennifer Spry at 604-251-1766.
