The UNKNOWN SOLDIERS come amazingly close to replicating the music of THE DOORS note for note while capturing their raw energy through each band member's interpretation, combining to deliver a groovy reproduction of a live Doors show that keeps audiences in a head-bobbing, toe-tapping trance. Although it is hard to replicate the eccentric unpredictability that was Jim Morrison, their singer's Morrisonesque look, vibe and baritone voice combine with swirling organs and deft musicianship to captivate and transcend time and place, allowing audiences to be transported back in time to experience a taste of live shows that are now a part of rock mythology.
POLICY OF TRUTH - Vancouver's one & only Depeche Mode Tribute band was formed in tribute to their favourite electro-pop band & their amazingly crafted music. Depeche Mode's resonant and sexy angst often feels like a revelation of a dirty secret with songs that are seedy, brooding and reflective all at once. Degradation and dependency are paraded with a sinister, knowing undercurrent that suggests redemption is never entirely cut and dried, and the irony of organized religion combined with the desperation channeled through the pain in Gahan's voice finds common ground in spirituality and sensuality.
