Victoria mezzo-soprano Kathryn Whitney and pianist Anita Comba return to the Alix Goolden Performance Hall with an English song recital. Kathryn studied singing in Toronto and New York and has recently completed her formal music training at Oxford University and at the Guildhall School of Music in London. She was elected Creative Arts Fellow (artist in residence) at Wolfson College, Oxford in 2002.
The program will include Vaughan-Williams' Songs of Travel, the Ophelia Songs by Beethoven, some beautiful settings of W.H. Auden poetry by Benjamin Britten and something quite frivolous from the parlour of Sterndale-Bennett.
Tickets available at McPherson Box Office Outlets, Ivy's Bookstore, Munro's Books, Cadboro Bay Book Company, and at the door.
