Event Description

. Wednesday, Dec 6th IMU & CiTR present ORPHANS AND DOGS @ The RAILWAY CLUB, 579 Dunsmuir Street . Doors 8:30pm / $8

ORPHANS AND DOGS - Elizabeth Fischer, with band mates Paul Blaney on bass, Kevin Elaschuk on trumpet, Tony Wilson on guitar and Joel Lower on percussion, dares to sing the tunes of Billie, Bessie, Bob, Tom and other societal miscreants and misfits. Thus, Elizabeth will explore other, more famous people's fuckups for a change. As an added attraction, someone will wear a dress, unless she totally chickens out, in which case she will not. Mr. Blaney and Mr. Elaschuk wish to let everyone know that they themselves would prefer that Elizabeth not swear quite so much. Mr. Lower does not care as he finds it all rather amusing. And Mr. Wilson, himself being an adept, is rather encouraging. But to put it all into perspective: yes, they are very serious about the music. Classic and should-be-classic jazz and blues songs played in an original fashion by some of Vancouver's finest musicians. http://myspace.com/orphansanddogs
