Rumba Calzada

You’re guaranteed to learn the Spanish word for “adrenaline” after spending the night with Vancouver’s Rumba Calzada, a dazzling septet of Latin jazz
all-stars who have been filling the dance floor (and making award-winning recordings) since 1991. The band is fronted by percussionist-composer Raphael Geronimo, third generation in a family of professional musicians and dancers, who studied extensively in Cuba and New York City. Rumba Calzada have cooked up a tasty version of salsa by forging a sizzling combination of Afro-Cuban rhythms and Latin grooves.
