Grid Multimedia began in 1998 as a small studio in the basement of a music store, founded by musician and sound engineer, Milo Yakibchuk. The studio proved instrumental in supplying well-needed recording time for the North Island's burgeoning entertainment industry, catering to a diverse and creative group of artists of all ages and backgrounds.
As time passed, Milo saw a niche grow for a meeting place where everyone involved in the production of music and art could gather, exchange ideas, access resources, and offer products and services to the larger community.
Today, Grid Multimedia is a thriving nexus for an eclectic fusion of artists, musicians, and consumers. It presents a novel approach to networking: as a hub within the community, we direct resources and services to where they are most needed, and connect artists and musicians to one another. We also offer a venue for small performances and band practices. We are a referral service to connect you to the professionals you need on your team: sound engineers, music teachers, graphic designers, web designers, promoters, and videographers are available as you need them, whenever you need them.
Due to our success and the support of our community, we recently moved to a larger, more central location in the heart of downtown Courtenay. Renovations have been under way since the summer of 2002 and will never be complete. We have put on some great shows since we officially opened for business on October 12th, 2002. For more information, check out our events.
