The Embassy Hotel was originally built in the 1900's and is currently London's oldest Hotel still in operation. In 1977 the Embassy Hotel was acquired by owner Helen Haller and remained solely a hotel until 1981 at which time live music was introduced as the Embassy's main entertainment. Although the clubs original focus was on Country music local London punk legends like 63 Monroe also made appearances as well as international acts like Black Flag (the club was even mentioned in Henry Rollins' book "Get In The Van"). In 1990 the Embassy Hotel switched music formats and began showcasing various bands from different genres like indie, hip hop, rock, folk, jazz, punk, hardcore, blues etc. (no more Country) and over the years has been regarded by many bands and tour managers as one of the best they have seen for it's size.
The Embassy's sound equipment consists of a 32 channel main board, 24 channel monitor board, full independent lighting system and a direct feed to AM radio. Live recordings as well as CD pressing are available for a small fee (e-mail [email protected] to discuss details)
Touring bands will be happy to know that every show at the Embassy is licensed all ages so no fans will be unable to attend due to age restrictions. The clubs stage is located close to the front door and only has one step up so there are no long trips back and forth from the stage to the main doors while moving equipment. 100% of the merchandise sales go to the bands (details to be discussed when booking show). As a service to the bands and record labels the Embassy Hotel also provides all relevant local media with all necessary information needed to cover your show or event (information must be furnished to the club well in advance). A list of local media and promotional tools are also available to bands and booking agents upon request.
The Embassy Hotel is an independent family owned and operated business that is proud to be able to give our customers, bands, record labels and booking agent a friendly personal touch that is truly unique to this line of business.
