*Not many of you know this but from May 27th, 1993 to July 27th, 1994 I was part owner of a coffee shop in Victoria called “Cipriani’s Coffee Bar.” It was at 1412B Douglas Street. Just above The Mint Restaurant. Funny I think it’s now a “Marijuana Smoking Lounge.” I was still, as I am now working full time for Long & McQuade at the time so I only worked at the coffee shop on my day off and a couple of nights a week when we had live entertainment. The second photo is a band that was called “Prisoners of Love.” That’s Mark Leischner on guitar and harmonica and doing all the lead vocals and Ken Sly on bass. I’ve forgotten the other two in the band I’m afraid. Sadly the coffee shop never made money and after 1 year and 2 months we had to close.* Wayne Forseth
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
Non-profit run and created by the community, ArtsVictoria.ca integrates current event listings and multimedia arts portfolios, and creates an explorable, living archive of the arts in Victoria BC.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
