About

Milton Road Trio

since circa 2002
Sometimes billed as Folk-jazz, sometimes Alt-pop, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes just fun, always original. This is the Milton Road Trio. Smoky vocals weave intimate lyrics with soaring sax improvisations and solid guitar rhythms.

All band members grew up on British Columbia's south coast. Their musical paths crossed on Quadra Island in 2001. They started out jamming once in a while just for fun. Things clicked and soon they were playing local charity events, covering jazz standards and jazzing up a few folk songs. A year later they were regulars at Quadra resorts and bistros.

Richard and Barbara started writing in 2003 and today the band performs mostly originals although a few of their favourite jazz standards still punctuate their sets. Their performance territory is constantly expanding: down Vancouver Island, across to Vancouver, up to the Okanagan...
