About

Kore Ionz

Label: Kore Ion Music
"Kore Ionz have a higher calling that involves changing lives."- Marian Liu (The Seattle Times)

“Kore Ionz are an excellent live band for the local lovers of classical Jamaican pop,” “blending the percussive elements with the melodic ones,” and “never going too far from the traditional beat ofroots reggae.”- Charles Mudede (The Stranger)

Kore Ionz, uniting in Seattle from four corners of the globe, mash up roots reggae with rock and world riddims, perpetuating a message of compassion and a culture of love. Water for roots. Love of reggae.Fire for rock.

Kore Ionz head back into the studio in early 2010 to record the follow-up to Half-hour Revolution after last year's appearances at Bumbershoot and Seattle Weekly's REVERB music festival. Dedicated to making progressive music accessible to all youth, Kore Ionz plan to
put on a concert for the third consecutive year at the King County Juvenile Detention Center.

The band represents five of seven continents in ethnic and cultural background, with musical roots equally as diverse, resulting in a global sound and culture that is their own. Promoting the awareness of social injustice and the need to build a caring intragenerational
community, their message is urgent and from the heart.

Kore Ionz have shared the stage with such internationally acclaimed artists as Bob Marley's Original Wailers, Eek A Mouse, Clinton Fearon & the Boogie Brown Band, and John Brown's Body.

50% of the proceeds from their debut album, Half-Hour Revolution, are being donated to Seattle non-profit the Service Board to support empowering mentorship programs for youth in marginalized communities.
