The Emily Carr Branch (formerly Saanich-Victoria Branch) was the first branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library system, opening in 1966 in the Town and Country Shopping Centre. In 1972, the branch relocated to the 3500 Blanshard Street location and in 1999 was renamed after the famous author and artist Emily Carr. The branch relocated to the Uptown complex in January 2014.
