Five.X.Five

Five.X.Five is Matej Novak, a multi-instrumentalist telling musical stories of trauma, travel and trying to make it. He has recorded in Toronto, Michigan and Nashville, working with Marc Jacob Hudson (Against Me!, Laura Jane Grace and the Devouring Mothers), Jeremy Taggart (Our Lady Peace), Atom Willard (Alkaline Trio) and Jack Lawrence (Jack White) and just wrapped up his first album in Vancouver backed by Jen Foster and Sophie Heppell of the Hyaenas. The album was produced by Jesse Gander at Rain City Recorders (Japandroids, White Lung) and Matej's primary songwriting partner, Billy the Kid, who also provided guitars, keys and vocals. He’s spent his life between Prague, where he was born, Toronto, where he grew up, and Kingston, where he went to school and lives with his wife and two kids.
