Capital Festival

As with so many Canadian musicians, John is an alumni of the National Youth Orchestra,of Canada as well as studies at the Banff School of Fine Arts.
He recieved his performance degree from the University of Toronto, followed by a move to the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for two years.

In 1983, John was awarded his position of principal trumpet in the
Victoria Symphony at the age of 22.

In addition to his performances with the Symphony, John has been very active as
a soloist particularly in music for trumpet and organ from the Baroque Era.John is the Founder of the Cathedral Summer Festival which is now branded as the Capital Summer Festival as well Artistic Director of Festival Productions.
As a leader of the Island Fanfare Brass,and CEO of Festival Productions John has utilized the talents of many different instrumentalists to form specific ensembles for various musical functions and events. The Island Fanfare Brass has entertained the many visitors to the Butchart Gardens during past Christmas seasons and Capital Festival Orchestra has performed many concerts in Victoria
