Applications for this program are currently open. Deadline September 30, 2019

The Expanding Capacity in the Indigenous Music Recording Industry program is intended to support emerging Indigenous recording engineers/producers and Independent Indigenous recording studios currently active within the B.C. music industry to engage in skill development and build professional capacity.

This program will support projects that strengthen the professional capacity of independent Indigenous recording studios by providing support to:
Emerging Indigenous recording engineers/producers who are currently operating an independent recording studio, or
Emerging Indigenous recording engineers/producers who have graduated from a recognized professional recording school with a demonstrated commitment to working as a recording engineer/producer within the music industry in British Columbia and have an established goal of working at or developing an independent recording studio, or
Independently owned Indigenous recording studios willing to offer an internship, mentorship or training to an emerging Indigenous recording engineer/producer.
The purpose of this initiative is to broaden applicant knowledge, skills, networking and business opportunities within the industry. Activities may include short-term and focused mentorship, internship or training opportunities through direct participation in a music recording project. Applicants will also have the opportunity, as a part of this program, to request funding for recording equipment and software enhancements.

This program supports applicants with Indigenous ancestry, which includes First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. Registered Indian Status is not required. Applicants must be residents of B.C.
