Realmlord, the debut album from The Strange Happenings, slated to be released virtually August 30, 2024. Hailing from Kingston and Frontenac County, Ontario, members Owen Davies (drums), Sherwood Lucas (bass), Cohen Boo Samson (guitar, vocals) & Grog Watson (synth, guitar, vocals) have conjured from vast musical influences to serve up some proto-punk, spaceship garage laced with a kraut-like motorik; Realmlord is weaved together by 6 string druidic spells and an infectiously tight rhythm section. While this is the first official release from The Strange Happenings, the band have been simmering sonically for a decade, in recent years elevated by Grog Watson (The Orange Alabaster Mushroom); they are now immortalized via 8 and 24-track tape machines in a live-tracking atmosphere curated by The Oscillitarium at their headquarters in Scarborough, Ontario. Realmlord was engineered and mixed by tone warlock, Tobin Hopwood (Possum, High Alpine Hut Network) under the ethereal liquid light projections and hummus of Sarah Bassakyros and Sophia Bassakyros; all crucial in maintaining a cosmically inspirational atmosphere.
