Warning be sea can best be described as a combination of melodic, hard and interesting punk rock that is catchy and captivating. They formed in August 2002 under the name Formula and since then they’ve been pushing and striving to create a name for themselves within Calgary’s Indie scene. Playing as many shows as they can, they have achieved this goal. Bringing to the stage an energetic, fierce and in your face live performance that is hard to forget. Over the last two years, after many shows and two second guitarists, Jon Hopkins(Fake Cops) and Andy MacDonald(The Corta Vita), they made the decision to change their name from Formula to Warning By Sea and remain a three piece. In the process they’ve built a local fan base and a repertoire as a hard working reliable band that just won’t quit. In March 2004, Warning By Sea sat down to begin their first studio recording which is now finished. Their 4 song EP is scheduled to be released in fall of 2004 on Mockingbird records, after which they will embark on a cross Canada tour to gain exposure, build their fan base and of course, play the music that has made them who they are.
