Tobias Delius Quartet
Saxophonist Tobias Delius is an exciting musician who sounds like Ben Webster and Archie Shepp rolled into one. American writer Art Lange observes that Delius has a “sound that can caress an Ellingtonian phrase or splinter into quick-witted thematic abstractions.” Tobias is a regular member of Available Jelly and Joost Buis and the Astronotes. His quartet flows freely between open improvisation and written charts while creating surprising and always fascinating music. His fellow improvisers include drummer Han Bennink, cellist Tristan Honsinger, and bassist Joe Williamson.
