The Great Conspiracy was started in 1997 by Evan Clarke and Brodie Ketelsen, high school jazz band mates. Evan had been writing songs, and the two had been jamming together in the band room during lunch hours. When Evans Dad asked if he could play for a Rotary function, he accepted and the band was formed. Since then the two have played many gigs together, with many different bass players and additional guitarist/vocalists. Kyle Stratton was added to the band in 2000, and was a good fit immediately. The trio (with another guitarist) played a number of shows together, until Kyle left for a mission for his church to Japan for 2 years. 6 months later, Evan left for his mission to England, and Brodie moved to Vancouver to go to University. Evan and Brodie finally got back together in the summer of 2004 to record, and the band finally was reunited Jan. 2005. They are currently playing gigs around Vancouver Island, in search of corporate support. Gigs of note they've played in the past include the Vancouver Island Exhibition, numerous competitions (some won, some not), self produced all ages shows at the local Youth Centre, Bathtub weekend (local festival), Canada Day (also local) etc.
