1992 - 1997. RIP...
Whoever would have known that Our End would be so aptly named? Or that Bomb Wedemark would end up functioning as one of those post-humous collections every hardcore band that's had more than two 7"s has put out? Yes, it is true - Strain is no more. It's been that way for a long time actually. Call it laziness or just misguided hope, but the news should have been posted here way back in 1999.
For the uninitiated Strain got together in 1992. Five years later, in 1997, Strain called it a day, managing to pull itself back together for a few more shows in 1998, but effectively no longer functioning as a band.
Telling the story of Strain would take more time than it is worth. Let's just say that those five years together gave all of us the best times we've ever had and none of us would change that EVER. To everyone who put on a show, gave us a floor to sleep on, fed us a meal, wrote about us in their 'zine, or just came out to a show - we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You made all the hard times and sacrifice more than worthwhile.
You can now find Sean and John dedicating themselves their new band, By A Thread. Their full length came out on California's Revelation Records in 1999. Eric can still be found every Tuesday evening from 6 - 8pm on Vancouver's CiTR 101.9 fm hosting the Flex Your Head radio program, and Jody and Chris are pretty much doing what they do best - keeping a low profile.
