John Aaron Cockburn writes and sings songs that calm the spirit and nourish the soul, drawing equally from personal experience and the collective unconscious to reveal elements about the human condition many of us either take for granted or willfully ignore.
A resident of BC by way of Montréal, John Aaron has been captivating audiences across North America and Europe with his distinct songwriting style and musicianship since 2012.
Interchanging folk, world, indie rock, Americana, jazz, and chamber music throughout his career.
From breaking out as band leader/composer with the Montreal Alt-Folk Collective Little Suns (True North Records)
To his solo ventures, and his work founding and leading the band KSAR,
Audiences are transfixed by his haunting lyricism and soothing voice, skillful musicianship, and songs which are somehow novel, yet familiar.
Also of note are his collaborations with his Uncle, Canadian Folk Music Icon Bruce Cockburn.
