Event Description

Double bill with Fraser & Haas (SCO/USA) + The Henry Girls (IRL)

Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser and American cellist Natalie Haas have emerged as one of the most acclaimed purveyors of traditional Celtic music. The musical partnership between Fraser, long regarded as Scotland's premier fiddle ambassador, and the sizzlingly-talented Californian cellist Haas may not seem an obvious one, but the duo's dazzling teamwork, driving rhythms, and their shared passion for improvising on the melody and the groove of Scottish tunes has helped reconstruct and revive the Scottish tradition of playing dance music on violin and cello.

The Henry Girls are a marvelous sister trio from Malin, a village in County Donegal, Ireland. Superb songwriters with gorgeous super-tight three-part harmonies that come partly from their shared sisterhood bond along with their lengthy musical history. Twenty years of gracing stages together, this trio interweaves their native traditions with bluegrass, jazz and country, and are one of Ireland’s top emerging folk acts.
