Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Boppers play a mix of original songs, swinging hillbilly jazz, rockabilly, and rhythm and blues from the 30’s to the 50’s. Slim sings and plays guitar and harmonica, joined by Willa Mae on vocals and "Lonely Mancini" on bass.
Performing since 1980, Slim played with various roots acts including Ray Condo and the Hardrock Goners, the Crazy Rhythm Daddies, and The Howlin' Hound Dogs before starting his own one-man hillbilly band in 2002. Joining with singer Willa Mae in 2012, Victoria’s own Hillbilly Boppers were born! Since then, the Boppers have released seven records and played festivals from Spain and France to the USA and right here in BC.
